I recently needed to make a gift for a friend who loves the color blue and sloths. I thought, “Great! I have a sloth Nonesuch Doll pattern all ready to go.” But I hesitated… And hesitated some more…. “I’m having so much fun making Sproutlings,” I thought. “I don’t really feel like sewing yet.” So out came the paper clay and the felting needles!

And this little critter emerged!

A Slothling! Genius! I mailed it off and my pal was thrilled!

Then the little gears in my head started whirring and clicking. “I love this. I want to keep sculpting and felting,” I thought. “Maybe I could make some more of these little animals.” I have been thinking about making a totem animal series of some kind. So that’s just what I’m going to do! I’ll have more info on this as soon as I get the ball rolling.

I have also been working on a new Sproutling project. Brooches!

There are six brooches in total in purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, and red! They are all finished and will be appearing in my Etsy shop very soon. I’ll make another post when they are all photographed and ready to go!
